Plain box mod IQOS in Nouméa: the price shortlist
Plain in Nouméa: 8 units tested over 9 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
What the label on Plain is allowed to say
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in New Caledonia. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
Plain sounds like one product. It is not: a box mod running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
If you only read one line: the box mod you buy decides how long plain tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a plain box mod really costs in Nouméa
If you are looking at plain in New Caledonia, the first question is not strength. It is whether the box mod you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested plain in a box mod
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Stock depth: 8 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
- Spare parts availability for box mod in New Caledonia, since tanks and pods go first.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a box mod arrives sealed but wrong.
Where plain goes wrong
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in New Caledonia accept nicotine freight.
- Mixing plain with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
The rules that apply here

Frequently asked questions
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On plain the budget price and the premium price can sit within XPF2.05 per 10 ml once 6–12 business days is counted.
Why does plain taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the box mod units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the plain blend itself harsh.
How much does a box mod cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF2.05 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF39 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
