Vanilla box mod IQOS in Nouméa: the deals shortlist
Vanilla in Nouméa: 7 units tested over 6 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
How we tested Vanilla box mod here
Vanilla in a box mod is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Nouméa the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
Vanilla prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF3.38 per 10 ml.
Below is the run we did for this search: 7 units, box mod, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a vanilla box mod really costs in Nouméa
Most people searching IQOS in New Caledonia are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
How we tested vanilla in a box mod
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Pick the box mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Batch code and production date, so a vanilla bottle turned in 6 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Stock depth: 7 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 6–12 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where vanilla goes wrong
- Treating the advertised XPF35 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF3.38 per 10 ml.
- Ignoring the batch date on a box mod and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why vanilla tastes flat after two days.

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should vanilla start at?
Start at whatever New Caledonia allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a box mod.
Why does vanilla taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the box mod units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the vanilla blend itself harsh.
How much does a box mod cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF3.38 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF35 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
