Sour mesh tank IQOS in Nouméa: the budget shortlist
Sour in Nouméa: 10 units tested over 9 weeks, mesh tank formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
How we tested Sour mesh tank here
The honest read on sour: 10 units through the same routine over 9 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
A sour mesh tank from the budget options in New Caledonia costs about XPF3.46 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
Below is the run we did for this search: 10 units, mesh tank, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a sour mesh tank really costs in Nouméa
Sour sounds like one product. It is not: a mesh tank running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
How we tested sour in a mesh tank
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every sour bottle shipped into New Caledonia.
- Batch code and production date, so a sour bottle turned in 9 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Stock depth: 10 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where sour goes wrong
- Mixing sour with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long sour in Nouméa survives.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why sour tastes flat after two days.

Frequently asked questions
How long does sour in a mesh tank last?
In Nouméa we measured 9 to 10 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Can I order IQOS online in New Caledonia?
Yes, tracked dispatch before 14:00, and delivery lands in 6–12 business days. Stock is batch-traced, so the bottle you receive carries a dated code.
Why does sour taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the mesh tank units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the sour blend itself harsh.
