Plum pen device IQOS in Nouméa: the compare shortlist
Plum in Nouméa: 14 units tested over 7 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
What the label on Plum is allowed to say
We run plum the same way in Nouméa: same pen device, same 7 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
Plum sounds like one product. It is not: a pen device running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
If you only read one line: the pen device you buy decides how long plum tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a plum pen device really costs in Nouméa
A plum pen device from the compared options in New Caledonia costs about XPF2.03 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
How we tested plum in a pen device
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Spare parts availability for pen device in New Caledonia, since tanks and pods go first.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 6–12 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every plum bottle shipped into New Caledonia.
- Stock depth: 14 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where plum goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long plum in Nouméa survives.
- Treating the advertised XPF63 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF2.03 per 10 ml.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why plum tastes flat after two days.

Frequently asked questions
Why does plum taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pen device units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the plum blend itself harsh.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On plum the budget price and the premium price can sit within XPF2.03 per 10 ml once 6–12 business days is counted.
What nicotine strength should plum start at?
Start at whatever New Caledonia allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a pen device.
