Licorice pod kit IQOS in Nouméa: the compare shortlist
Licorice in Nouméa: 22 units tested over 4 weeks, pod kit formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Coil life, liquid cost and the licorice habit
Licorice prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF2.43 per 10 ml.
Licorice in Nouméa reaches the shelf in pod kit formats, and the compared ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
If you only read one line: the pod kit you buy decides how long licorice tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a licorice pod kit really costs in Nouméa
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in New Caledonia. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
How we tested licorice in a pod kit
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the pod kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Spare parts availability for pod kit in New Caledonia, since tanks and pods go first.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Batch code and production date, so a licorice bottle turned in 4 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where licorice goes wrong
- Mixing licorice with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Chasing a discount on a pod kit that then needs an adapter nobody in New Caledonia stocks.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in New Caledonia sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
New Caledonia applies French-style rules with a local import permit. Shipping of nicotine to New Caledonia runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should licorice start at?
Start at whatever New Caledonia allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a pod kit.
Why does licorice taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pod kit units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the licorice blend itself harsh.
How much does a pod kit cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF2.43 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF43 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
