Tobacco in Nouméa: 13 units tested over 5 weeks, starter kit formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
What tobacco costs in Nouméa
We run tobacco the same way in Nouméa: same starter kit, same 5 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
Most people searching IQOS in New Caledonia are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
If you only read one line: the starter kit you buy decides how long tobacco tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a tobacco starter kit really costs in Nouméa
If you are looking at tobacco in New Caledonia, the first question is not strength. It is whether the starter kit you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested tobacco in a starter kit
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the starter kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Coil type inside the starter kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 6–12 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
- Spare parts availability for starter kit in New Caledonia, since tanks and pods go first.
Where tobacco goes wrong
- Mixing tobacco with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long tobacco in Nouméa survives.
- Treating the advertised XPF66 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF3.38 per 10 ml.

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should tobacco start at?
Start at whatever New Caledonia allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a starter kit.
How much does a starter kit cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF3.38 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF66 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Why does tobacco taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the starter kit units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the tobacco blend itself harsh.
