Tobacco squonk mod IQOS in Nouméa: the cheap shortlist
Tobacco in Nouméa: 12 units tested over 5 weeks, squonk mod formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
How to tell a good squonk mod from a repack
Tobacco prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF2.51 per 10 ml.
If you are looking at tobacco in New Caledonia, the first question is not strength. It is whether the squonk mod you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
The short version: tobacco in Nouméa works if the squonk mod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a tobacco squonk mod really costs in Nouméa
Most people searching IQOS in New Caledonia are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
How we tested tobacco in a squonk mod
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Coil type inside the squonk mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 6–12 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every tobacco bottle shipped into New Caledonia.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
Where tobacco goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a squonk mod and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Buying the cheapest squonk mod available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why tobacco tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
New Caledonia applies French-style rules with a local import permit.
Packaging for tobacco in New Caledonia must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a squonk mod cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF2.51 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF39 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
How long does tobacco in a squonk mod last?
In Nouméa we measured 5 to 12 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Why does tobacco taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the squonk mod units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the tobacco blend itself harsh.
