Tobacco RDA IQOS in Nouméa: the review shortlist
Tobacco in Nouméa: 9 units tested over 9 weeks, RDA formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Stock, batch codes and the dispatch window
Tobacco sounds like one product. It is not: a RDA running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
Most people searching IQOS in New Caledonia are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
The short version: tobacco in Nouméa works if the RDA, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a tobacco RDA really costs in Nouméa
Tobacco in a RDA is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Nouméa the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
How we tested tobacco in a RDA
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the RDA that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every tobacco bottle shipped into New Caledonia.
- Spare parts availability for RDA in New Caledonia, since tanks and pods go first.
- Coil type inside the RDA, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
Where tobacco goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why tobacco tastes flat after two days.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Mixing tobacco with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
The rules that apply here
Packaging for tobacco in New Caledonia must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
Retail sales in New Caledonia sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
How long does tobacco in a RDA last?
In Nouméa we measured 9 to 9 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Why does tobacco taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the RDA units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the tobacco blend itself harsh.
