Ordering IQOS to Nouméa: the practical version
Sour prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF2.61 per 10 ml.
The honest read on sour: 21 units through the same routine over 2 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
If you only read one line: the starter kit you buy decides how long sour tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.

How we tested sour in a starter kit
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a starter kit arrives sealed but wrong.
- Batch code and production date, so a sour bottle turned in 2 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Spare parts availability for starter kit in New Caledonia, since tanks and pods go first.
Where sour goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why sour tastes flat after two days.
- Chasing a discount on a starter kit that then needs an adapter nobody in New Caledonia stocks.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in New Caledonia accept nicotine freight.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a starter kit cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF2.61 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF29 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On sour the budget price and the premium price can sit within XPF2.61 per 10 ml once 6–12 business days is counted.
Why does sour taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the starter kit units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the sour blend itself harsh.
