Ordering IQOS to Nouméa: the practical version
Sour in Nouméa reaches the shelf in squonk mod formats, and the online ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
We run sour the same way in Nouméa: same squonk mod, same 5 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
The short version: sour in Nouméa works if the squonk mod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a sour squonk mod really costs in Nouméa
Most people searching IQOS in New Caledonia are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
How we tested sour in a squonk mod
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Pick the squonk mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Stock depth: 12 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Spare parts availability for squonk mod in New Caledonia, since tanks and pods go first.
- Batch code and production date, so a sour bottle turned in 5 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 6–12 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where sour goes wrong
- Treating the advertised XPF48 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF2.83 per 10 ml.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long sour in Nouméa survives.
- Mixing sour with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
The rules that apply here
New Caledonia applies French-style rules with a local import permit.
Wholesale lines to New Caledonia need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.

Frequently asked questions
Why does sour taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the squonk mod units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the sour blend itself harsh.
How much does a squonk mod cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF2.83 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF48 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
How long does sour in a squonk mod last?
In Nouméa we measured 5 to 12 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
