Sour in Nouméa: 16 units tested over 4 weeks, refill pack formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
How we tested Sour refill pack here
If you are looking at sour in New Caledonia, the first question is not strength. It is whether the refill pack you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
Ordering into Nouméa usually means waiting 6–12 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
The short version: sour in Nouméa works if the refill pack, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a sour refill pack really costs in Nouméa
Sour in Nouméa reaches the shelf in refill pack formats, and the online ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
How we tested sour in a refill pack
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the refill pack that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Spare parts availability for refill pack in New Caledonia, since tanks and pods go first.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 6–12 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Batch code and production date, so a sour bottle turned in 4 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Coil type inside the refill pack, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where sour goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long sour in Nouméa survives.
- Treating the advertised XPF41 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF2.63 per 10 ml.
- Mixing sour with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.

Frequently asked questions
How long does sour in a refill pack last?
In Nouméa we measured 4 to 16 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Why does sour taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the refill pack units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the sour blend itself harsh.
How much does a refill pack cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF2.63 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF41 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
