Sour in Nouméa: 10 units tested over 3 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
What sour costs in Nouméa
A sour pen device from the bulk options in New Caledonia costs about XPF3.6 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
Sour prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF3.6 per 10 ml.
Below is the run we did for this search: 10 units, pen device, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a sour pen device really costs in Nouméa
Most people searching IQOS in New Caledonia are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
How we tested sour in a pen device
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Batch code and production date, so a sour bottle turned in 3 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Coil type inside the pen device, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every sour bottle shipped into New Caledonia.
Where sour goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long sour in Nouméa survives.
- Chasing a discount on a pen device that then needs an adapter nobody in New Caledonia stocks.
- Ignoring the batch date on a pen device and discovering the listed price was for old stock.

How long does sour in a pen device last?
In Nouméa we measured 3 to 10 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
