Sour mesh tank IQOS in Nouméa: the review shortlist
Sour in Nouméa: 24 units tested over 7 weeks, mesh tank formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
What the label on Sour is allowed to say
If you are looking at sour in New Caledonia, the first question is not strength. It is whether the mesh tank you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
Sour in a mesh tank is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Nouméa the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
The short version: sour in Nouméa works if the mesh tank, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a sour mesh tank really costs in Nouméa
Sour prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF1.76 per 10 ml.
How we tested sour in a mesh tank
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Spare parts availability for mesh tank in New Caledonia, since tanks and pods go first.
- Coil type inside the mesh tank, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
Where sour goes wrong
- Treating the advertised XPF50 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF1.76 per 10 ml.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long sour in Nouméa survives.
- Ignoring the batch date on a mesh tank and discovering the listed price was for old stock.

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should sour start at?
Start at whatever New Caledonia allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a mesh tank.
How long does sour in a mesh tank last?
In Nouméa we measured 7 to 24 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Is sour legal to sell in New Caledonia?
New Caledonia applies French-style rules with a local import permit.
