The short version: salted in Nouméa works if the zero-nicotine bottle, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a salted zero-nicotine bottle really costs in Nouméa

How we tested salted in a zero-nicotine bottle
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
- Coil type inside the zero-nicotine bottle, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every salted bottle shipped into New Caledonia.
- Batch code and production date, so a salted bottle turned in 2 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where salted goes wrong
- Treating the advertised XPF55 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF1.86 per 10 ml.
- Buying the cheapest zero-nicotine bottle available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in New Caledonia accept nicotine freight.
The rules that apply here

Frequently asked questions
Why does salted taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the zero-nicotine bottle units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the salted blend itself harsh.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On salted the budget price and the premium price can sit within XPF1.86 per 10 ml once 6–12 business days is counted.
What nicotine strength should salted start at?
Start at whatever New Caledonia allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a zero-nicotine bottle.
