Salted prefilled pod IQOS in Nouméa: the flat shortlist
Salted in Nouméa: 8 units tested over 6 weeks, prefilled pod formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Coil life, liquid cost and the salted habit
We run salted the same way in Nouméa: same prefilled pod, same 6 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
Salted in Nouméa reaches the shelf in prefilled pod formats, and the flat-rate ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
The short version: salted in Nouméa works if the prefilled pod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a salted prefilled pod really costs in Nouméa
The honest read on salted: 8 units through the same routine over 6 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
How we tested salted in a prefilled pod
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Pick the prefilled pod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Coil type inside the prefilled pod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every salted bottle shipped into New Caledonia.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
Where salted goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long salted in Nouméa survives.
- Chasing a discount on a prefilled pod that then needs an adapter nobody in New Caledonia stocks.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why salted tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
New Caledonia applies French-style rules with a local import permit. Shipping of nicotine to New Caledonia runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
Packaging for salted in New Caledonia must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.

Frequently asked questions
How long does salted in a prefilled pod last?
In Nouméa we measured 6 to 8 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Why does salted taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the prefilled pod units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the salted blend itself harsh.
How much does a prefilled pod cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF2.9 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF53 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
