Plum cartomizer IQOS in Nouméa: the compare shortlist
Plum in Nouméa: 24 units tested over 7 weeks, cartomizer formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Coil life, liquid cost and the plum habit
A plum cartomizer from the compared options in New Caledonia costs about XPF2.14 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
Plum in Nouméa reaches the shelf in cartomizer formats, and the compared ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
The short version: plum in Nouméa works if the cartomizer, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a plum cartomizer really costs in Nouméa
Plum sounds like one product. It is not: a cartomizer running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
How we tested plum in a cartomizer
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the cartomizer that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Spare parts availability for cartomizer in New Caledonia, since tanks and pods go first.
- Batch code and production date, so a plum bottle turned in 7 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Coil type inside the cartomizer, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where plum goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest cartomizer available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Mixing plum with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in New Caledonia sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
New Caledonia applies French-style rules with a local import permit. Shipping of nicotine to New Caledonia runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
