How we tested Plain prefilled pod here
If you are looking at plain in New Caledonia, the first question is not strength. It is whether the prefilled pod you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
Plain in Nouméa reaches the shelf in prefilled pod formats, and the bulk ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
If you only read one line: the prefilled pod you buy decides how long plain tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a plain prefilled pod really costs in Nouméa
The honest read on plain: 16 units through the same routine over 8 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
How we tested plain in a prefilled pod
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the prefilled pod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a prefilled pod arrives sealed but wrong.
- Coil type inside the prefilled pod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Batch code and production date, so a plain bottle turned in 8 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Stock depth: 16 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where plain goes wrong
- Mixing plain with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Chasing a discount on a prefilled pod that then needs an adapter nobody in New Caledonia stocks.
- Buying the cheapest prefilled pod available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a prefilled pod cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF3.14 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF45 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Why does plain taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the prefilled pod units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the plain blend itself harsh.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On plain the budget price and the premium price can sit within XPF3.14 per 10 ml once 6–12 business days is counted.
