Plain pen device IQOS in Nouméa: the online shortlist
Plain in Nouméa: 15 units tested over 4 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
How we tested Plain pen device here
The honest read on plain: 15 units through the same routine over 4 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
Plain prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF2.62 per 10 ml.
Below is the run we did for this search: 15 units, pen device, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a plain pen device really costs in Nouméa
Plain sounds like one product. It is not: a pen device running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
How we tested plain in a pen device
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every plain bottle shipped into New Caledonia.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 6–12 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Spare parts availability for pen device in New Caledonia, since tanks and pods go first.
- Batch code and production date, so a plain bottle turned in 4 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where plain goes wrong
- Treating the advertised XPF42 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF2.62 per 10 ml.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Chasing a discount on a pen device that then needs an adapter nobody in New Caledonia stocks.
