Plain mesh tank IQOS in Nouméa: the online shortlist
Plain in Nouméa: 11 units tested over 4 weeks, mesh tank formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
How we tested Plain mesh tank here
Plain mesh tank reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 11 units and 4 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
We run plain the same way in Nouméa: same mesh tank, same 4 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
The short version: plain in Nouméa works if the mesh tank, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a plain mesh tank really costs in Nouméa
The honest read on plain: 11 units through the same routine over 4 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
How we tested plain in a mesh tank
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the mesh tank that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Coil type inside the mesh tank, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 6–12 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every plain bottle shipped into New Caledonia.
Where plain goes wrong
- Treating the advertised XPF64 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF2.27 per 10 ml.
- Buying the cheapest mesh tank available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Mixing plain with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.

Frequently asked questions
How long does plain in a mesh tank last?
In Nouméa we measured 4 to 11 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
What nicotine strength should plain start at?
Start at whatever New Caledonia allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a mesh tank.
Why does plain taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the mesh tank units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the plain blend itself harsh.
