Mint box mod IQOS in Nouméa: the flat shortlist
Mint in Nouméa: 14 units tested over 4 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Choosing a box mod for mint
A mint box mod from the flat-rate options in New Caledonia costs about XPF2.2 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
Mint in a box mod is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Nouméa the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
The short version: mint in Nouméa works if the box mod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a mint box mod really costs in Nouméa
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in New Caledonia. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
How we tested mint in a box mod
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
- Batch code and production date, so a mint bottle turned in 4 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 6–12 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where mint goes wrong
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Ignoring the batch date on a box mod and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in New Caledonia accept nicotine freight.

Frequently asked questions
Why does mint taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the box mod units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the mint blend itself harsh.
What nicotine strength should mint start at?
Start at whatever New Caledonia allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a box mod.
How long does mint in a box mod last?
In Nouméa we measured 4 to 14 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
