Melon starter kit IQOS in Nouméa: the compare shortlist
Melon in Nouméa: 17 units tested over 7 weeks, starter kit formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Where buyers go wrong with melon in New Caledonia
Melon prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF3.34 per 10 ml.
Melon in a starter kit is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Nouméa the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
The short version: melon in Nouméa works if the starter kit, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a melon starter kit really costs in Nouméa
A melon starter kit from the compared options in New Caledonia costs about XPF3.34 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
How we tested melon in a starter kit
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the starter kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Spare parts availability for starter kit in New Caledonia, since tanks and pods go first.
- Batch code and production date, so a melon bottle turned in 7 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every melon bottle shipped into New Caledonia.
- Coil type inside the starter kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where melon goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a starter kit that then needs an adapter nobody in New Caledonia stocks.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long melon in Nouméa survives.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why melon tastes flat after two days.

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should melon start at?
Start at whatever New Caledonia allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a starter kit.
Why does melon taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the starter kit units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the melon blend itself harsh.
How much does a starter kit cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF3.34 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF64 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
