Lime in Nouméa: 18 units tested over 3 weeks, cartomizer formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
How we tested Lime cartomizer here
If you are looking at lime in New Caledonia, the first question is not strength. It is whether the cartomizer you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in New Caledonia. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
The short version: lime in Nouméa works if the cartomizer, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a lime cartomizer really costs in Nouméa
If you are looking at lime in New Caledonia, the first question is not strength. It is whether the cartomizer you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested lime in a cartomizer
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the cartomizer that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a cartomizer arrives sealed but wrong.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Coil type inside the cartomizer, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where lime goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a cartomizer and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why lime tastes flat after two days.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in New Caledonia sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Packaging for lime in New Caledonia must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a cartomizer cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF1.68 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF42 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Is lime legal to sell in New Caledonia?
New Caledonia applies French-style rules with a local import permit.
Why does lime taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the cartomizer units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the lime blend itself harsh.
