Where buyers go wrong with licorice in New Caledonia
We run licorice the same way in Nouméa: same refill pack, same 8 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
The honest read on licorice: 6 units through the same routine over 8 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
Below is the run we did for this search: 6 units, refill pack, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a licorice refill pack really costs in Nouméa
Licorice in Nouméa reaches the shelf in refill pack formats, and the bulk ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
How we tested licorice in a refill pack
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the refill pack that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a refill pack arrives sealed but wrong.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
- Coil type inside the refill pack, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Stock depth: 6 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where licorice goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long licorice in Nouméa survives.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Treating the advertised XPF62 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF2.7 per 10 ml.

Frequently asked questions
Why does licorice taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the refill pack units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the licorice blend itself harsh.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On licorice the budget price and the premium price can sit within XPF2.7 per 10 ml once 6–12 business days is counted.
How much does a refill pack cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Nouméa: about XPF2.7 per 10 ml liquid plus XPF62 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
