Licorice pen device IQOS in Nouméa: the budget shortlist — Iqosnewcaledonia
Licorice in Nouméa: 24 units tested over 5 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Ordering IQOS to Nouméa: the practical version
Licorice sounds like one product. It is not: a pen device running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
We run licorice the same way in Nouméa: same pen device, same 5 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
If you only read one line: the pen device you buy decides how long licorice tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a licorice pen device really costs in Nouméa
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in New Caledonia. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
How we tested licorice in a pen device
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Coil type inside the pen device, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Stock depth: 24 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a pen device arrives sealed but wrong.
Where licorice goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why licorice tastes flat after two days.
- Ignoring the batch date on a pen device and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Chasing a discount on a pen device that then needs an adapter nobody in New Caledonia stocks.
The rules that apply here
New Caledonia applies French-style rules with a local import permit. Shipping of nicotine to New Caledonia runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
Retail sales in New Caledonia sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
Why does licorice taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pen device units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the licorice blend itself harsh.
Do you ship tracked orders to New Caledonia?
Yes, tracked to 6–12 business days, with the same-day cut-off at 14:00. Bulk orders get an import note attached before dispatch.
What nicotine strength should licorice start at?
Start at whatever New Caledonia allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a pen device.
