Coil life, liquid cost and the lemon habit
Lemon prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Nouméa that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within XPF2.24 per 10 ml.
We run lemon the same way in Nouméa: same zero-nicotine bottle, same 2 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
The short version: lemon in Nouméa works if the zero-nicotine bottle, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a lemon zero-nicotine bottle really costs in Nouméa
The honest read on lemon: 21 units through the same routine over 2 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
How we tested lemon in a zero-nicotine bottle
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Spare parts availability for zero-nicotine bottle in New Caledonia, since tanks and pods go first.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Coil type inside the zero-nicotine bottle, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where lemon goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a zero-nicotine bottle and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Treating the advertised XPF29 entry kit as the real cost when refills run XPF2.24 per 10 ml.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.

Frequently asked questions
Is lemon legal to sell in New Caledonia?
New Caledonia applies French-style rules with a local import permit.
Why does lemon taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the zero-nicotine bottle units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the lemon blend itself harsh.
How long does lemon in a zero-nicotine bottle last?
In Nouméa we measured 2 to 21 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
