Caramel pen device IQOS in Nouméa: the cheap shortlist
Caramel in Nouméa: 14 units tested over 7 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Coil life, liquid cost and the caramel habit
Caramel in a pen device is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Nouméa the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
We run caramel the same way in Nouméa: same pen device, same 7 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
If you only read one line: the pen device you buy decides how long caramel tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a caramel pen device really costs in Nouméa
Most people searching IQOS in New Caledonia are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
How we tested caramel in a pen device
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in New Caledonia, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Stock depth: 14 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in New Caledonia, not a suggestion.
- Batch code and production date, so a caramel bottle turned in 7 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where caramel goes wrong
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in New Caledonia accept nicotine freight.
- Chasing a discount on a pen device that then needs an adapter nobody in New Caledonia stocks.
- Ignoring the batch date on a pen device and discovering the listed price was for old stock.

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should caramel start at?
Start at whatever New Caledonia allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a pen device.
Is caramel legal to sell in New Caledonia?
New Caledonia applies French-style rules with a local import permit.
Why does caramel taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pen device units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the caramel blend itself harsh.
