Blackcurrant in Nouméa: 7 units tested over 8 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for New Caledonia.
Choosing a pen device for blackcurrant
The honest read on blackcurrant: 7 units through the same routine over 8 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
Blackcurrant pen device reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 7 units and 8 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
If you only read one line: the pen device you buy decides how long blackcurrant tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.

How we tested blackcurrant in a pen device
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 6–12 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Stock depth: 7 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a pen device arrives sealed but wrong.
Where blackcurrant goes wrong
- Mixing blackcurrant with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Chasing a discount on a pen device that then needs an adapter nobody in New Caledonia stocks.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long blackcurrant in Nouméa survives.

Frequently asked questions
Is blackcurrant legal to sell in New Caledonia?
New Caledonia applies French-style rules with a local import permit.
Why does blackcurrant taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pen device units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the blackcurrant blend itself harsh.
How long does blackcurrant in a pen device last?
In Nouméa we measured 8 to 7 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
